The integrity officers of the sports federations football, ice hockey, basketball, tennis, handball, volleyball, table tennis and from the Austrian Olympic Comimittee and Sport Austria gathered for the 2nd Play Fair Code Integrity Officer Summit on November 15, 2023 on the initiative of the Play Fair Code.
After a brief welcome and technical introduction by CEO Severin Moritzer, Rudolf Weiss, from the Integrity in Sports Unit for doping, drugs and betting fraud at the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA), and Johannes Wiesmann, general secretary of Basketball Austria, gave interesting insights into the recent criminal trial in the match-fixing case in Austria's top Basketball leagues, underlining the cooperation between the investigation unit, the Basketball Fderation and the Play Fair Code.
The lively discussion that followed underlined the importance of this new format and the aim for constantly deepening the cooperation between the federations and the public (investigating) authorities.
